As a DSP, you will play a pivotal role in supporting individuals with disabilities to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. Responsibilities Care and Support: Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration. Provide emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to promote independence. Foster a safe and inclusive environment that respects the dignity and rights of each individual. Communication and Documentation: Maintain clear and open communication with clients, their families, and the interdisciplinary team. Document client progress, health records, and incidents accurately and in a timely manner. Report any changes in client behavior or health to the appropriate supervisors. Community Engagement: Plan and engage individuals in community-based activities, outings, and social events. Encourage participation in vocational and recreational opportunities to enhance social skills and community integration. Training and Development: Attend mandatory training sessions and stay updated on best practices in the field of developmental disabilities. Seek opportunities for professional growth and skill development. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in caregiving, healthcare, or a related field is a plus. Compassion, patience, and a strong desire to make a positive impact on individuals' lives. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.
