Assistant Coach, Women's Lacrosse

Job Overview Brown University Athletics and Recreation seeks an Assistant Coach for Women’s Lacrosse in Providence, Rhode Island. The program includes 38 varsity teams and approximately 1,000 athletes in NCAA Division I. Responsibilities Assist the Head Coach in all phases of the Women’s Lacrosse Program. Work with a position group as assigned by the Head Coach. Coach, teach, and develop players. Recruit prospective athletes. Coordinate training and travel schedules. Conduct video analysis. Complete compliance information. Engage in alumni relations. Support efforts to attract top women’s lacrosse players to the Division I non‑scholarship program. Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree with 1–2 years of coaching experience, or a minimum of 5 years of direct related experience if a Bachelor’s Degree is not held. Coaching experience in intercollegiate athletics, professional athletics, elite amateur sport, or a comparable competitive environment. Job Competencies Ability to recruit within NCAA and Ivy League rules. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills. Demonstrated ability to work with and relate well to students. Excellent sport‑specific technical, tactical, and strategic knowledge. Basic proficiency in Excel, Word, and internet/email capabilities. Social media experience is helpful. Familiarity with Teamworks or similar is preferred. Prior experience with video editing software is helpful. Commitment to the student‑athlete, passion for the game, and ability to coach and motivate. Additional Requirements All division employees must demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations. Annual NCAA recruiting rules education provided by the compliance office. Maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification (available at no cost through the Division). Will be required to undergo a criminal, education, and motor‑vehicle‑record background check.
