Job Title: Machine Operator
Location: Wausau, WI
Shifts: 1st
Wage: $23.10 per hour

Job Overview:
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining production machinery to meet customer specifications while adhering to company safety and quality standards. Operators may serve in a lead capacity to ensure production lines run efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain area, equipment, and personal sanitation.

• Set up and operate machinery, including film, zippers, labels, and cheese handling equipment.

• Inspect machinery, conveyor belts, and emergency stops to ensure proper functionality.

• Load and handle product safely.

• Perform basic maintenance tasks, greasing, cleaning, and preventative maintenance.

• Ensure product quality and adherence to weight specifications using Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems.

• Disassemble and assemble equipment as needed.

• Utilize downtime productively.

• Communicate daily production updates, changes, and safety issues to team members.

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies.

• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and company safety procedures.

• Other duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and machinery.

• Strong work history and attendance in previous roles.

• Ability to read, prepare, and understand production reports.

• Strong communication skills with team members regarding quality and safety.

• Ability to motivate and work in a team environment.

• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to take measurements.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills.

• Experience with SAP or MES systems.

• Basic computer skills.

Working Conditions:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. frequently

• Work in a fast-paced production environment with temperatures averaging 50-60&degree;F.

• Safety equipment such as hair nets, ear protection, hardhats, and safety glasses may be required.
