Material Handler

Material HandlerPosition DescriptionThe Material Handler supports warehouse operations by safely and efficiently moving, storing, and tracking materials. This role involves unloading trucks, operating powered industrial trucks (PIT) and overhead cranes, performing inventory transactions, and maintaining accurate material records using SAP and handheld scanners. The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring timely material availability to support production and shipping operations.Key ResponsibilitiesUnload inbound trucks and receive materials accurately and safelyTransport materials within the warehouse using PIT (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) and cranesStore materials in designated locations following warehouse layout and safety standardsPerform replenishment activities to support production and order fulfillmentConduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activitiesRecord all material movements and transactions in SAPUse handheld scanners to track inventory and ensure data accuracyIdentify and report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, or unsafe conditionsFollow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and equipment operation guidelinesMaintain a clean, organized, and efficient work areaSupport continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouseRequired Education & QualificationsPrevious warehouse or material handling experience preferredExperience operating PIT equipment and cranes, or willingness to be trained and certifiedFamiliarity with SAP or other warehouse management systems preferredExperience using handheld scanners or RF devicesAbility to read work instructions, labels, and inventory documentationBasic math skills and attention to detailAbility to lift, push, and pull materials up to 50 poundsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periodsComfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levelsEducation Requirements: High school diploma or GED required.
