Senior Principal Engineer – Electrical Fuze & Initiation SystemsThe Energetics and Propulsion Department is an engineering organization in the Hardware Engineering Directorate. They are looking for a Senior Principal Engineer – Electrical Fuze & Initiation Systems. This Department is responsible for the full spectrum of warhead, fuzing, and propulsion designs/technology, including power systems, ignition, and all other weapon initiation safety systems technology. The department is seeking to hire a Senior Principal Engineer – Fuze & Initiation Systems.The Senior Principal Engineer – Electrical Fuze & Initiation Systems role is in Tucson, AZ and is an onsite position.What You Will DoApply or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts to the systems integration of fuzing devices, controllers, software, mechanical and electrical interfaces for integration into missile systems and space vehiclesInvolvement with both development and production programs across Raytheon product linesReview manufacturing processes and problem resolution as well as working directly with subcontractors on the design and manufacturing of fuzing devicesWork in a collaborative environment with program management in long-range program planning concerning new or projected areas of technological research and advancements and be a key spokesperson on program's technical capabilities and future directionsManage fuzing device development projects and propulsion subcontracts; review and disposition subcontract data and change requests; and oversee supplier operationsProvide frontline lead activities and mentor engineers who develop fuzing devicesDevelop and deliver technical presentations to management and government agenciesFrequently interface with the Customer to identify user needsBe instrumental in obtaining new company business and act independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational missile programsWill travel extensively to government and subcontractor facilitiesQualifications You Must HaveBachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and 7 years of relevant experienceA minimum of ten (10) years of experience in fuzing / one shots / engineering technology and/or engineering designExperience with fuzing devices design, manufacturing, testing, safety certification and/or complianceProject Management as applied to team interaction and deliverablesThe ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
