Licensed Practical Nurse - Outpatient - Primary Care Waterdam - McMurray - FT

This job provides quality care to patients and families to promote health and prevent disease under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.

Essential responsibilities include:

• Performing general nursing care in accordance with nursing practice standards.
• Assisting with the preparation of equipment and assisting the physician/clinical provider during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
• Collecting assessment data, preparing patients for examination, and documenting clinical information on patient records.
• Ordering diagnostic tests as directed by a registered nurse or physician/clinical provider and gathering diagnostic tests and/or examining results prior to physician/clinical provider assessment.
• Scheduling procedures and obtaining authorizations as necessary.
• May give injections or medication, collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, and prepare them for testing.
• Performing other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications include:

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Current state licensure as an LPN or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• CPR American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Preferred qualifications include:

• 1 year healthcare experience.
• State approved IV course certification.
• Knowledge of OASIS documentation and assessment process.
• PALS or ACLS may be required based on the specific area of practice.
