As the Assistant Director of Environmental Services (EVS), you will help drive operational excellence, elevate the patient experience, and support a culture of service and accountability.ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Director of EVS oversees daily operations, staff leadership, and administrative functions to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety. This role partners with the Director to monitor operational and financial performance, departmental goals, and key performance indicators.This position leads managers, supervisors, and staff in executing departmental strategies and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include conducting quality assurance rounds, collaborating with stakeholders, and implementing improvement plans to enhance service, compliance, and efficiency.Additional responsibilities include oversight of staffing coverage, supply and equipment management, payroll and timekeeping, recruitment, employee relations, and performance management. The Assistant Director also provides leadership coverage in the Director’s absence.QualificationsMinimum Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, healthcare, business, or related field and 3+ years of environmental services (EVS) management experience (healthcare preferred)OR 5+ years of EVS management experience (healthcare preferred) in lieu of a degreeCertifications:Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) credential preferredKnowledge & Skills:Strong knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory standardsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation deliveryProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; EVS software experience preferredLeadership & Experience:Proven success leading teams in complex, fast-paced environmentsDemonstrated ability to drive high-quality outcomes and exceptional serviceStrong customer service mindset with a positive, employee-focused approachAbility to collaborate effectively with all levels of healthcare staffSkilled in handling unexpected situations calmly while prioritizing patient well-beingAdditional Requirements:Non-frequent driver designation (may operate a vehicle as needed)
