Kitchen Director

Our General Manager is responsible for supporting senior leadership in executing daily operations and keeping team members accountable for each component of Operational Excellence and our Recipe for Service. A General Manager two main areas of focus are completing tasks so that the restaurant runs effectively, and coaching/developing team members. They

lead by example and set the tone that others will follow.

General Manager Responsibilities:

• Participating operationally in day-to-day activities in high-volume, fast-paced Restaurant
• Offer immediate and respectful response to Guest's needs
• Assist in training of new hires, set the tone for a shift, and act as a role model for our team
• Trains other trainers to help build future Team Members and sustain ongoing training
• Be a friendly, encouraging team player
• Open and/or close, lead shifts, key holder
• Count drawers and finalize day
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
• Insures that cashiers follow cash handling procedures at all times
• Manage daily analytics to maintain operational excellence at all times
• Addresses guest issues that may arise; consults with management regarding complex issues
• Insures Team Members and Team Leaders are engaged at all times with the guest experience

• Prior experience as shift lead, crew lead, supervisor, team lead, restaurant manager, restaurant assistant manager is not required but is preferred.

  • Ensuring accountability to assigned responsibilities

• Ensuring the restaurant is appropriately staffed, trained, and prepared to execute excellent operations during all dayparts.
• Maintaining operational excellence through consistent execution of systems, processes, and standards.
• Monitoring and improving key business results, including:
  • Sales and profitability
  • Labor and productivity
  • Food cost and waste
  • Guest satisfaction
  • Speed of Service
  • Team Member retention and engagement
  • Operational efficiency
• Ensuring the restaurant maintains a culture of care, excellence, hospitality, and continuous improvement.
• Building strong relationships with Team Members, leaders, guests, and community partners.
• Collaborating with the Operator and leadership team to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
• Ensuring compliance with Chick-fil-A standards, company policies, food safety requirements, employment practices, and applicable regulations.
• Leading the restaurant through change, growth, challenges, and opportunities with clarity, confidence, and consistency.
• Holding all Directors accountable for their roles and responsibilities while fostering a unified leadership team.

The General Manager should:

• Work intentionally within the restaurant while also allocating appropriate time for planning, analysis, coaching, and strategic leadership.
• Lead through other leaders rather than attempting to personally manage every operational detail.
• Allocate consistent time each week to:
  • Strategic planning
  • Director coaching and development
  • Business performance review
  • Talent planning
  • Culture development
• Effectively communicate organizational goals, priorities, expectations, and success factors to the entire team.
• Combine critical thinking, business acumen, and practical leadership to drive sustainable results.
• Create clarity by ensuring every Director understands their role, responsibilities, priorities, and measures of success.
• Intentionally develop leaders who are capable of leading independently and effectively.
• Establish a culture where accountability is viewed as a form of care and development.
• Ensure hiring, training, coaching, evaluation, and daily leadership practices align with the vision and thematic goal of the organization.
• Make decisions that balance:
  • The needs of the guest
  • The development of the Team Member
  • The health of the business
  • The long‑term vision of the organization
• Proactively identify problems, address root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Model the behaviors, standards, and values expected from every leader and Team Member.
