We are seeking an Inventory Control Coordinator to join a client in Milpitas. This is a temp to hire position. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. The position is 100% onsite.

Inventory Control Coordinator

Position Summary

The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting inventory integrity throughout warehouse and production operations. This position performs cycle counts, investigates and reconciles inventory discrepancies, supports physical inventories and audits, and partners with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve inventory-related issues.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working across warehouse and manufacturing functions to improve inventory accuracy, strengthen processes, and ensure inventory transactions are completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cycle counts in accordance with established schedules and inventory control procedures.
• Research, investigate, and reconcile inventory discrepancies, including quantity, location, lot, serial number, and transaction variances.
• Conduct root cause analysis to determine the source of inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other applicable systems.
• Review inventory transactions and movements to identify errors, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate inventory-related activities with Receiving, Warehouse, Shipping, Production, Quality, Contract Manufacturing (CM), and IT teams.
• Support physical inventory activities, including customer-requested inventories, periodic counts, and internal or external audits.
• Verify compliance with inventory control requirements, including FIFO, lot control, serial number tracking, and material traceability.
• Assist in resolving inventory issues affecting production, shipping, receiving, or customer requirements.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and escalate recurring discrepancies or process issues as appropriate.
• Document inventory control processes and assist with the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Cross-train with warehouse personnel to promote consistent inventory handling and transaction practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve inventory accuracy, transaction discipline, and warehouse efficiency.
• Follow established quality, safety, and warehouse procedures.
• Perform other inventory control and warehouse-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate degree or college-level coursework preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant inventory, warehouse, or manufacturing experience will be considered.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory control, cycle counting, warehouse operations, material control, or a related function.
• Experience working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or similar inventory management system.
• Experience conducting cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Experience researching and resolving inventory discrepancies.
• Experience performing root cause analysis related to inventory or transactional errors.
• Experience in a manufacturing, electronics, distribution, or high-volume warehouse environment is preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of inventory control principles, cycle counting, and warehouse processes.
• Working knowledge of FIFO, lot control, serial number tracking, inventory transactions, and material traceability.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP or equivalent lookup functions, filtering, sorting, and basic data analysis.
• Ability to analyze inventory transactions and identify the root cause of discrepancies.
• Ability to learn, document, and consistently follow inventory control processes and SOPs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate inventory issues with warehouse employees, production personnel, and other cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and meet established deadlines.
• Ability to support and coordinate the work of others when required.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and quality system requirements.
• English/Vietnamese bilingual skills are helpful but not required.
