Schedule: Generally 11:30 AM–5:30 PM, plus approximately one evening per week. Saturday availablity is a plus too. Flexibility for additional hours and days is available. 
Salary: $40–$45 per hour, depending on experience

A warm, loving, and family-oriented family in Redding, Connecticut, is seeking an experienced, nurturing, and engaging nanny to care for their wonderful 12-month-old daughter. The family lives in the beautiful Connecticut countryside and is looking for someone who genuinely loves working with babies and toddlers and will provide attentive, hands-on care in a warm and supportive environment.

The family also has three much-loved rescue dogs who are an important part of the household.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate is naturally playful, attentive, and loving, with a genuine passion for early childhood development. The family is looking for someone who will be fully engaged with their daughter throughout the day, encouraging her curiosity, development, and milestones through age-appropriate activities, outdoor exploration, reading, music, and play.

This is first and foremost a childcare position, with some light household assistance during nap times and quieter moments. The family values someone proactive, reliable, and happy to lend an extra hand when needed.

Responsibilities

Childcare & Development

• Provide loving, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care for a 12-month-old.

• Engage the child in interactive play, reading, singing, and age-appropriate activities.

• Encourage developmental milestones, curiosity, and learning through play.

• Take the child on walks and spend time outdoors when weather permits.

• Prepare and serve the child's meals and snacks.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment.

• Follow the family's routines and provide updates regarding the child's day.

Light Household Support

• Keep the child's belongings, toys, and play areas organized.

• Handle the child's laundry and assist with general organization.

• Tidy the kitchen and common areas related to the day's activities.

• Load and unload the dishwasher as needed.

• Wash and prepare fruits and vegetables, unpack groceries, and assist with simple family meal preparation.

• Be a proactive extra set of hands during nap times and quieter moments.

This is not a housekeeping position. The primary focus will always be the care, safety, and development of the child.

Ideal Candidate

• Extensive experience caring for infants and toddlers, ideally with children around 12 months old.

• Warm, nurturing, playful, and genuinely passionate about childcare.

• Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate activities is a plus.

• Proactive, organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a family home.

• Comfortable around dogs and happy to work in a household with three rescue dogs.

• Flexible and open to occasional evening hours and additional days as needed.

• Seeking a short-term position and available to start immediately.

Compensation & Schedule

• $40–$45 per hour, depending on experience.
