About the Role:
Lake James Electric LLC is looking for a skilled Licensed Gas Contractor to join our team in Morganton, NC, specializing in generator installations. This is a great opportunity to work on meaningful projects that keep homes and businesses powered when it matters most. Responsibilities:
- Install, connect, and test natural gas and propane lines for residential and commercial standby generators
- Ensure all gas piping installations meet local, state, and national code requirements
- Coordinate with electricians and other trades to complete generator installation projects efficiently
- Perform pressure testing and leak detection on newly installed gas lines
- Obtain necessary permits and schedule inspections with local authorities
- Troubleshoot and service existing gas supply systems related to generator equipment
- Maintain accurate job documentation, including as-built drawings and inspection records
Requirements:
- Valid North Carolina Licensed Gas Contractor license required
- Experience with natural gas and LP gas piping systems for generator applications
- Working knowledge of NC State Building Code and NFPA 54/58 gas codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and site plans
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and code compliance
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
