Job Description

This role focuses on setting up, operating, and troubleshooting automated production and process equipment in a microelectronic cleanroom manufacturing environment. The technician performs detailed inspections, data entry, and assembly tasks while maintaining high quality standards and meeting production deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automatic process equipment in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of process and automated production equipment to maintain smooth operations.
• Conduct microscope inspections intermittently for 1–3 hours throughout the day to ensure product quality.
• Complete computer data entry tasks for 1–2 hours per day to accurately record production and inspection data.
• Assemble parts as part of routine operations, following established procedures and quality guidelines.
• Perform heavy lifting of up to 55 pounds, approximately 3–4 times per hour, while adhering to safety practices.
• Maintain a clean and controlled work area consistent with cleanroom standards.
• Follow production schedules and work within a deadline-driven, quality-focused environment.
• Collaborate with team members in a department of approximately 15–20 employees to meet production goals.

Essential Skills

• 2–3 years of equipment operating experience, ideally with automated production equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to set up and operate process and automated production equipment.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for process and automated equipment.
• Experience working in a cleanroom or microelectronic manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to handle tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Ability to perform microscope inspections with attention to detail.
• Capability to perform heavy lifting up to 55 pounds multiple times per hour.
• High school diploma or GED (education verification required).
• Comfort with computer data entry and working with production-related software or systems.
• Commitment to quality and adherence to manufacturing procedures and standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or microelectronics production.

Work Environment

The role is based in a microelectronic cleanroom manufacturing facility within a department of approximately 15–20 employees. The environment is controlled, quality-driven, and deadline-oriented, requiring adherence to cleanroom protocols and established processes. Work involves regular interaction with automated production and process equipment, microscopes, and computer systems, with a strong emphasis on precision, safety, and maintaining consistent product quality.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
