Retail Store Area Team Leader-NEW STORE OPENING!

Job Summary As a Store Area Team Leader at OSJL, you will be responsible for ensuring all areas within your area adhere to company merchandising standards, managing the efficient flow of merchandise, and providing leadership and support to store teams. You will be a detail‑oriented professional with a strong understanding of merchandising principles and freight operations, while inspiring and empowering your team through effective use of OSJL’s streamlined technology. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Profitability : Support company programs flawlessly to maximize revenue and achieve store goals; demonstrate leadership by running the store smoothly in the absence of the Store Team Leader; reconcile daily funds according to store closing procedures. Backroom Efficiency : Lead and support an efficient freight flow process; maintain a well‑organized backroom; achieve a 24‑hour freight turnaround; leverage technology for scheduling effectiveness. Inventory Management : Partner with the Store Team Leader to maintain optimal inventory levels; ensure proper merchandising and product placement. Merchandising & Freight Management : Lead the timely placement of products on the sales floor, ensuring compliance with company standards; collaborate on effective merchandising strategies to drive sales and optimize inventory turnover; monitor freight flow and coordinate receiving, inspection, and stocking processes; address product shortages or overstocks. Team Development : Recruit, train, and develop store associates; identify and nurture high‑potential associates; foster a stable, knowledgeable team environment where associates feel valued and empowered. Store Culture Champion : Ensure the store exceeds standards for merchandising, cleanliness, and overall presentation; lead by example to maintain operational, merchandising, and visual compliance; cultivate positive relationships across store leadership, associates, and field management. Customer Service Champion : Monitor and maintain exceptional customer service; keep the store clean and visually appealing. Technology Enablement : Support HCM processes, associate data, timekeeping, benefits, and learning management system operations; maintain Oracle systems for store expenses; review Domo Store Spotlight technology; use Thinktime for efficient communication; utilize mobile devices for operational support. Qualifications 4+ years of previous retail management experience or equivalent education/experience. Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets). Preferred experience with HCM and Business Intelligence tools. Work Environment Primarily in a climate‑controlled, low‑hazard environment. Long periods of stationary, moving, and positioning required throughout the shift. Conditions vary by location (sales area, stockroom/receiving area, operations/office area).
