Project Manager – AdvancedThe University of South Carolina is seeking an experienced Accessibility Compliance and Risk Analyst to support digital accessibility initiatives. This role focuses on reviewing Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) and Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs), identifying compliance gaps, and documenting accessibility risks to support procurement and governance decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesReview vendor-submitted VPATs and ACRs as part of procurement and governance processesEvaluate compliance against Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 standardsIdentify gaps, inconsistencies, or unclear responses and request clarificationsAssess accessibility limitations based on usage and institutional impactClassify accessibility risks (low, moderate, high) using established criteriaDocument findings clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholdersProvide detailed summaries of risks and exceptions for leadership reviewEnsure documentation supports audit and compliance requirementsProvide accessibility insights for technologies under reviewParticipate in discussions as a subject matter expert when requiredClearly distinguish between factual findings and policy decisionsCollaborate with IT, procurement, legal, and compliance teamsCommunicate accessibility requirements in clear, practical termsSupport remediation planning by identifying non-compliance areasRequired Qualifications3+ years of experience in digital accessibility and VPAT analysis3+ years of experience in accessibility risk documentation and technical writing3+ years of experience interpreting accessibility standards and compliancePreferred QualificationsCertifications or training in WCAG or Section 508Experience in higher education, government, or regulated environmentsExperience with procurement or governance processesBachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, UX, HCI, or related field
