Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 9 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 3 months of Meditech experience is preferred.

• 9 months of acute care experience within the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Tennessee license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - HCA - Tristar Division.

Additional Details:

Special Requests: - Any special scheduling requests must be made with manager upon arrival at facility. - Blocked scheduling case by case basis.

Unit Details: - Patient ratios: 1:5-6 for RNs; 1:12-15 for PCTs; RN/LPN team would have 10 total. Each hall has 2-3 RNs/1 LPN (as staffing/census allows) and 1-2 PCTs. - Unit staffing includes unit secretaries until 8p during weekdays, techs and externs availability, and RN/LPN teams. - Uses Alaris pumps, remote telemetry, continuous pulse ox, specialty beds, transfer equipment, wound vacs, chest tubes, NG and feeding tubes, bladder scanners, 12-Lead EKG machine, Teletracking for bed placement, MobiLab, Patient Keeper, Inspire App, and Wound Capture. - Patient population includes medical-surgical patients, orthopedic and spine patients, trauma patients, and psych medical hold patients. - Procedures and cases include post-catheterizations without intervention, lap appy/chole, thoracentesis/paracentesis, procedures performed by IR, spine and joint cases, stable traumas, HD/peritoneal dialysis, and CBI. - Very busy Med-Surg and ortho/spine unit.

Shift & Scheduling: - At least one weekend within 4-week period. May be split up.

Floating Requirements: - Floating within unit’s discretion.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW : This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
