We currently have an opportunity for an AssociateCounsel in New York.ResponsibilitiesDraft and negotiate a wide range of construction and commercial contractsDraft corporate documents, joint venture, and partnership agreementsWork with the legal team to advise senior-level executives on legal, operational, compliance and regulatory risk and corporate governance mattersDevelop and implement strategies across the organization to improve our legal processes and reduce riskDevelop strategies for resolving disputes and claims, supervise outside counsel on litigation, and represent OHLA in mediations as client representativeDevelop deep relationships with our construction project teams and key business partnersTour our projects throughout the region and assist project staff as necessaryQualificationsEducation: Juris Doctor or LL.M degreeNY BarExperience: At least 5+ years of experience with background in public contracting, infrastructure projects, bidding, or procurement (whether in a government role, in-house, or with a law firm) strongly preferredPrior experience directly advising clients on complex mattersSolid experience in balancing business needs and riskGovernment experience in infrastructure - preferredSkills:Fluency with legal research tools, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and proficiency in MS ExcelAnalytical skills and ability to develop reasoning independentlyBrilliant writing skills - ability to craft compelling and persuasive narratives and draft favorable agreements without legaleseEagerness to learn and think creativelyStrong interpersonal awarenessMeticulous attention to detailAbilities:Adept at managing multiple deadlines and competing demands, and adjusting to rapidly changing prioritiesEngendering trust through honesty, friendliness and professionalismTolerant of ambiguity when the best answer is not obvious, and eager to learn and find practical solutionsOpen to the views and experiences of others, and willing to learn from feedbackComfortable reading and interpreting financial statements and documentsDriven to be a well-versed, trusted advisor and expert who brings tremendous value to the organization.Additional Benefits offered by OHLA USA:Medical, Dental, & Vision InsuranceShort- and Long-Term Disability & Life Insurance401(k) retirement plan with employer matchingTuition Reimbursement after 1 year of employmentPersonal Time Off Program (PTO)Engaging work environmentAnd much more!!To learn more about OHLA USA, visit our website OHLA ADA Message: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
