Support Staff Mentors

The Paraprofessional Mentoring Program is designed to support the professional growth, effectiveness, and retention of paraprofessionals by pairing them with experienced staff members. The program focuses on building capacity in instructional support, student engagement, and understanding of school systems while fostering a sense of belonging and professional confidence. Program Goals Support paraprofessionals in behavioral strategies Strengthen understanding of classroom expectations and how to support student needs Promote consistency in practices across schools within the district Provide professional and emotional support Improve collaboration among staff within the district while understanding each building has unique nuance Compensation & Hours: Up to 20 hours at usual hourly rate (Subject to change; an example schedule is as follows) New Staff Day (Afternoon within buildings) - 4 hours Mentor / Mentee Meetings - 3 hours (September) Mentor / Mentee Meetings - 2 hours (October - January) Mentor / Mentee Meetings - 1 hour (February - June) Mentor Eligibility Criteria Have at least one year of experience within the district Be in good standing with the building principal Demonstrate strong interpersonal and instructional support skills Be willing to be flexible in meeting the needs of mentees Be recommended or approved by administration #J-18808-Ljbffr Fall Mountain Regional School District
