Senior Project Manager - MechanicalPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager - Mechanical to lead mechanical construction projects in the commercial sector. The role is responsible for the successful delivery of design-build and traditional project deliveries from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, quality and safety targets. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal) with proven project leadership, strong client relationship skills, and experience managing mechanical contractors and subcontractors.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage multiple commercial mechanical projects from pre-construction through closeout, including design-build delivery methods.Develop, maintain and drive project schedules, budgets and forecasts; ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.Coordinate and review mechanical design, drawings and specifications; collaborate with architects, engineers and owners to resolve design issues.Manage procurement and subcontractor selection, oversight and performance for mechanical, plumbing, piping and sheet metal trades.Prepare and negotiate contracts, change orders and claims; maintain accurate project documentation and contract administration.Oversee site operations and logistics, ensuring work is sequenced efficiently and safely; conduct regular site visits and progress meetings.Implement and enforce quality control and safety programs in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.Identify and mitigate project risks; develop corrective action plans to address schedule or cost variances.Maintain clear, proactive communication with clients, owners, design teams, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.Mentor, coach and develop project staff and field teams; promote continuous improvement and best practices across projects.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.Minimum 8-10 years of mechanical construction experience with progressive responsibility; previous experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager required.Demonstrated experience in commercial construction and design-build project delivery.Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, piping and sheet metal fabrication and installation.Experience working with mechanical contractors and subcontractor management; familiarity with mechanical contracting business practices.Proven track record managing project budgets, schedules and change orders on medium to large scale projects.Proficiency with project management and construction software (MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar); working knowledge of BIM/Revit is a plus.Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM or mechanical contracting license are desirable.Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and client-facing skills; ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.Thorough knowledge of building codes, standards and safety regulations relevant to mechanical systems and commercial construction.Willingness to travel to project sites and valid driver's license.** This position is located in Milwaukee WI.
