Instructional Designer

Position: Instructional Designer
Location: McLean, Virginia
Duration: Contract (Long Term)

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to support the Enterprise Supply Chain (ESC) Learning and Development team. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop engaging training materials that align with ESC goals and key performance indicators. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design, adult learning theory, and experience with tools such as Articulate 360 and Camtasia.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and design courses for web-based and instructor-led training.
• Create learning materials based on defined learning outcomes.
• Formulate knowledge checks and theory assessments to evaluate effective knowledge transfer.
• Produce supporting materials, such as videos, to reinforce training.
• Assess audience learning needs and identify knowledge gaps.
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to capture training requirements and develop course content.

Qualifications:

• Expertise in using the Articulate 360 software suite, including Rise and Storyline, to create web-based training.
• Experience with Camtasia software is preferred.
• Proficiency in drafting content and developing graphics and videos based on SME feedback.
• Strong knowledge of adult learning theory.
• Familiarity with instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE and Bloom's Taxonomy.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to the organization's training framework and approach.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with procurement, supply chain, or risk management is a plus.
• Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Minimum of five years of instructional design experience.
• Must provide two samples of work from an instructional design portfolio.
• Must complete a practical assessment if selected to move forward in the interview process.

Pay Range: $45.00 - $50.00

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
