Billing Specialist (Contract)

Overview Our client is looking for an individual for a Billing Specialist Job in Chicago, IL. This position is responsible for processing monthly billing and reconciling invoices in a timely manner each month. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the various sources of billing data, both electronic and manual, and the procedures required to have data posted to the proper client accounts. Details Location: Chicago Fully Onsite Position Type: Temp Rate: $30/hr.-$35/hr. Start Date: Mid-July 2026 Job Functions Create, issue, and approve billing and invoices to clients Prepare cash deposits and enters all cash receipts for agency fees into accounting system Accurately post payments received Pull backup for cost entries reflected on the bills prior to sending the bill out for payment Print month-end billings, ensures accuracy, and perform follow-up on past-due accounts Prepare reports and materials necessary to track billings Audit each bill/account for charges, duplications and overlapped accounts before billing, making any necessary adjustments and documenting appropriately Maintain appropriate files for billings and cash receipts by program and funding source Work with Sales and Account Management teams to ensure client is billed as expected Report to management on status and progress of unbilled fees and costs Perform additional billing duties as assigned Requirements One year of corporate Billing experience required Advertisement, marketing or media industry experience is preferred Ability to work successfully in a deadline-driven environment with frequent interruptions Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Must have strong technology skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required Ability to handle a high volume of work at one time Benefits Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
