Laboratory Operations Improvement Intern

Genmab seeks an intern to support laboratory operations improvements over a 10-week summer program. The role involves implementing Lean 5S methodology, optimizing inventory management systems, and analyzing laboratory space utilization at the Princeton, NJ facility.

Responsibilities

• Support Lean 5S implementation in laboratory areas including Sort, Set-in-Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustainable activities
• Assist with laboratory organization projects including workspace optimization, labeling, and standardization of shared areas
• Support MRP implementation and optimization of inventory management approaches including Kanban and material replenishment
• Contribute to laboratory capacity and space-planning analyses to assess utilization and growth requirements
• Collaborate with Laboratory Management, scientists, Facilities, EHS, Procurement, and cross-functional partners on assigned projects

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related discipline
• Previous laboratory experience through coursework, academic research, employment, or internship
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and common business applications
• Ability to collect, organize, and interpret operational data with attention to accuracy
• Interest in laboratory operations, continuous improvement, or biotechnology
• Willingness to work hands-on in laboratory environments following safety requirements
