THE JOB

Position: Senior Outside Sales Rep

Location: Los Angeles, California

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Outside Sales Rep to develop new packaging business throughout the Los Angeles market. This is a senior, customer-facing outside sales position for someone who already understands the packaging industry, has established relationships with commercial buyers, and knows how to turn those relationships into profitable business.

The primary objective is to generate new revenue. You'll prospect for opportunities, work with existing professional contacts, identify packaging challenges, and develop solutions using the company's products and internal resources.

This is not simply an account-maintenance role. Success requires a demonstrated ability to originate business, manage complex sales opportunities, and build recurring customer relationships.

Responsibilities include:

• Identify, prospect, and develop new commercial packaging customers.
• Leverage relevant industry relationships to create qualified sales opportunities.
• Sell corrugated, protective, custom, and related packaging solutions.
• Meet with purchasing, operations, manufacturing, and supply-chain decision makers.
• Evaluate customer packaging requirements and recommend practical solutions.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and operational resources on customer opportunities.
• Develop proposals, manage pricing discussions, and pursue profitable business.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of new accounts and revenue opportunities.
• Expand customer relationships through additional packaging products and services.
• Manage sales activity, account development, and customer follow-up.

The position serves the Los Angeles commercial market and requires regular in-person customer engagement. Territory boundaries, reporting structure, office expectations, and travel requirements will be reviewed during the hiring process.

The successful candidate will bring established packaging knowledge, take ownership of new-business development, and demonstrate the ability to create meaningful revenue over time.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

• Direct professional experience selling packaging products or solutions is required.
• Established relationships with commercial packaging buyers.
• Proven success developing new customers and generating packaging revenue.
• Ability to discuss and substantiate previous sales production.
• Experience managing a new-business pipeline and recurring commercial accounts.
• Strong prospecting, consultative selling, and relationship-development skills.
• Understanding of packaging applications, customer requirements, and commercial pricing.
• Ability to work effectively with design, manufacturing, and operations teams.
• Comfort meeting customers in person and managing an outside sales territory.
• Strong organization, follow-through, independence, and accountability.
• Corrugated packaging experience strongly preferred.
• Protective, custom, or industrial packaging experience is valuable.
• Experience selling to manufacturing, industrial, or distribution customers preferred.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and structured pipeline management preferred.

THE BENEFITS

$125-$135k Base Salary plus Commissions. Year 1 OTE is approximately 140k, 175k Year 2, and 200k+ in year 3.

The position is intended for an experienced producer and offers a base salary plus a revenue-based commission opportunity. Final Los Angeles compensation terms, including the approved base range and commission structure, will be confirmed during the recruiting process.
