Amarillo-Bell Branch, 3401 Bell St, Amarillo, TX 79109, USA The Teller I conducts transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently while meeting or exceeding service quality standards. This position safeguards bank assets, contributing to the bank's growth by promoting and cross‑selling bank products and services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receives, pays out cash, and handles negotiable items, loan payments, deposits, withdrawals and transfers. Sets up, closes and balances teller station. Records sales of monetary instruments. Assists customers with inquiries in person or by telephone. Maintains neat and well‑stocked teller area. Cross sells bank products and services. Follows limits established for protection of customer accounts and bank safety and soundness. Adheres to bank policies and procedures. Lifts coin bags up to 50 lbs. Assists with balancing Vault, ATM, Night Drop, and Coin Machine. Assists with proper scanning of bank documents and proof work. Exercises judgment when applying holds and making check cashing decisions. Cross‑trains to be available to open basic new consumer accounts. Adheres to work schedule; must be flexible in availability. Maintains positive, friendly and professional attitude and appearance. May be required to work an alternative location within the region or market. Remains alert and works safely at all times. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. Performs any other related duties as required or assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience: Equivalent to four years of high school or GED, with emphasis on office skills; 0‑6 months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Communication Skills: Effectively communicates information and responds to questions in person‑to‑person and small group situations with customers, clients, the general public, and other employees. Mathematical Skills: Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides numbers, applying these skills to money and other measurements. Critical Thinking Skills: Uses common sense to carry out simple multi‑step instructions and handles standardized situations with limited variables. Additional Information Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must be able to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person‑to‑person and small group situations. Must have basic math skills and 10‑key proficiency. Must have cash‑handling experience in a business environment. Must maintain a positive, friendly and professional attitude and appearance. May be required to work an alternative location within the region or market. Preferred High School or better.
