Mechanical Planner

The Mechanical Planner is responsible for the effective planning and scheduling of mechanical maintenance activities within the refinery. This role ensures that all mechanical work is performed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with refinery standards and regulatory requirements. The Mechanical Planner coordinates with various departments to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal disruption to refinery operations.

1. Planning and Scheduling:
   • Develop detailed job plans for mechanical maintenance activities, including scope of work, required materials, tools, and labor.
   • Create and maintain accurate maintenance schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
   • Coordinate with operations, engineering, and procurement teams to align maintenance activities with refinery operations.
2. Work Order Management:
   • Review and prioritize incoming work orders based on urgency, safety, and operational needs.
   • Ensure work orders are complete, accurate, and include all necessary information and documentation.
3. Resource Coordination:
   • Allocate and manage resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet maintenance schedules.
   • Coordinate with contractors and external service providers as needed.
4. Material and Inventory Management:
   • Ensure the availability of required materials and spare parts for scheduled maintenance activities.
   • Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and reduce downtime.
5. Safety and Compliance:
   • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with refinery safety standards and regulatory requirements.
   • Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and ensure that all safety precautions are in place before work begins.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
   • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including job plans, work orders, and completion reports.
   • Provide regular updates and reports to management on maintenance performance and progress.
7. Continuous Improvement:
   • Identify opportunities for improving maintenance processes and efficiency.
   • Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
8. Collaboration:
   • Work closely with operations, engineering, and other departments to ensure maintenance activities are aligned with refinery objectives.
   • Facilitate communication and coordination among various stakeholders to resolve issues and optimize maintenance activities.
