We are currently recruiting for a Dental Assistant at US Coast Guard, Kodiak, AK Key Responsibilities: The Dental Assistant will support dental providers in delivering safe, efficient, and high‑quality dental carein accordance withthe Performance Work Statement (PWS), clinic protocols, and regulatory standards. Prepare treatment rooms, dental instruments, and materials for patient procedures. Assistdentists during examinations, restorations, extractions, and other clinical procedures. Take dental radiographs (X‑rays) using proper safety and protection techniques. Sterilize, disinfect, andmaintaindental instruments and equipment. Record patient information, treatment notes, and dental charting accurately in the dental record system. Provide patients with pre‑procedure and post‑procedure instructions. Manage dental supply inventory and ensure availability of materials. Schedule patient appointments and support front‑office administrative duties as needed. Maintain infection control and universal precautionsin accordance withdental standards. Support dental readiness, mass screenings, and preventive services when assigned. Qualifications: Certificate or formal training as a Dental Assistant. Must meet one of the following education or experience pathways: graduation from a CODA‑accredited dental assistant program, completion of a military dental assistant/technician program, or completion of a Red Cross Dental Assistant course—each requiring at least 12 months of experience within the past 36 months; or a minimum of 36 months of Dental Assistant experience in a private practice or military clinic within the past 48 months; or graduation from a state‑accredited dental assistant or dental technology program within the past 12 months. Minimum of one (1) year of full‑time Dental Assistant experience within the last two (2) years. Ability to maintain required continuing education, if applicable. Must successfully pass all WJM & USCG background checks.
