Respiratory Therapist

Join our team as a PRN, Respiratory Therapist in Tulsa, OK. Bailey Medical Center is a 73-bed hospital that offers a full range of medical services including general surgery, maternity, gynecology, bariatrics, orthopedics and emergency care. Responsibilities Set up and operate various types of equipment used in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness. Administer respiratory-specific gases and medications, and modes of therapy for respiratory-compromised patients; respond to emergencies throughout the hospital. Advise on arterial blood gas results. Assist in the transport of mechanically ventilated patients. May assist in ordering department supplies. Takes and records verbal and telephone orders from physicians as necessary. Act as a resource person to nurses, physicians, residents, interns, respiratory staff, students and other hospital staff regarding initiation and operation of all respiratory procedures. May assume a charge role in the absence of the Respiratory Supervisor. Takes an active part in attending departmental in-service/education programs. Participate in quality assurance programs and in departmental and/or BMC committees. Work schedule includes working alternate weekends and holidays. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associated degree in Respiratory Care. Minimum of 1 year of experience. Oklahoma CRT license (upon hire). Registered Respiratory Therapist license for RRT only (upon hire). BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
