Finance Domain Expert for AI Model Development

Drive how frontier AI models reason about real-world private equity and venture capital finance work by providing deep, practiced domain expertise to an advanced generative AI research team. You will define what correct financial analysis looks like, produce canonical solutions, and build the benchmarks that measure model progress.

• Review and quality-assure finance knowledge work tasks and model outputs, identifying missing behaviors, shallow reasoning, flawed assumptions, and answers that appear plausible but would not pass professional review.
• Author high-quality instruction specifications and produce golden solutions to financial problems that establish correct answers and acceptable reasoning.
• Design challenging finance tasks and evaluation sets, and help create finance-specific skill assessments and tools with the research team.
• Calibrate standards across researchers and adjacent specialists, translating tacit financial judgment into explicit, teachable criteria and evaluation rubrics.

• Minimum 5 years of substantive, dedicated professional finance experience at a recognized institution, for example an investment bank, asset manager, private equity or credit fund, Big Four firm, large corporate finance function, or financial regulator. Generalist roles that only touch finance peripherally do not qualify.
• Deep specialization in at least one core finance discipline, such as corporate finance and FP&A, investment banking and M&A, asset or wealth management, private equity or private credit, quantitative finance and risk management, treasury, or accounting and audit.
• Demonstrated seniority, with a clear progression to a senior individual contributor or leadership level, for example Vice President, Director, Principal, Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, Controller, or CFO, with real ownership of analysis and decisions.
• Advanced degree from a strong program, for example MBA, MS, or PhD in finance, economics, accounting, or a quantitative field, and/or a recognized professional credential such as CFA, CPA, FRM, or an actuarial designation, strongly preferred.
• Practical, hands-on experience using large language models in professional work, and the judgment to distinguish well-reasoned answers from plausible-sounding errors.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to provide precise, well-structured written feedback.
• Available to commit reliably to 40 hours per week for an initial engagement of 6 months.

• Employment type, full-time W-2 position with Cincinnatus LLC as the employer of record.
• Placement at a leading AI research lab as part of their extended workforce, working directly inside the client environment and tools alongside research teams.
• You will be provisioned with client-issued accounts and equipment to perform the work.
• Hybrid role based in the Bay Area, California. This is not a remote position, you must live in the Bay Area and be able to work on-site with the client''s team multiple days each week when required.
• Candidates not already based in the Bay Area must be willing to relocate at their own cost prior to the start of the engagement, relocation assistance is not provided.

• Hourly pay, range $110 to $150 per hour.

• Must be legally eligible to be employed as a W-2 employee in the United States; Cincinnatus LLC will administer employment, onboarding, payroll, and benefits for the role.
