Job Description Job Description Vin Vin, a chef-driven Vietnamese kitchen in Midtown New York, is seeking a hands-on Sous Chef to help lead daily kitchen operations. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will support service execution, maintain quality and consistency, and mentor the kitchen team while helping deliver modern takes on classic Vietnamese dishes. Responsibilities Supervise line cooks and prep staff during service. Lead kitchen service and step in for the Executive Chef when needed. Execute recipes, plating standards, and portion control. Manage ordering, receiving, inventory, and food cost control. Train and develop kitchen staff. Support menu development and specials. Maintain a clean, organized, and health-code-compliant kitchen. Required Qualifications Strong knowledge of Vietnamese flavors, techniques, and ingredients, including broths, herbs, grilling, and fish sauce-based preparations. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. NYC Food Protection Certificate. Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of experience in sous chef operations. Previous experience in NYC Vietnamese restaurants. Familiarity with the NYC dining scene and supplier network. Bilingual Vietnamese/English skills.
