Job Title: Director of Engineering Location: Richmond, Virginia Starting Compensation Range: $200,000 - $230,000 + annual bonus eligibility The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading all engineering activities supporting the design, deployment, and operation of mobile and modular distributed power plants utilizing natural gas turbines and natural gas reciprocating engines. The individual in this role provides technical leadership across the full project lifecycle—from front‑end engineering and design (FEED) through mobilization, installation, commissioning, operations, and maintenance—for turnkey power solutions serving data centers, utilities, oil and gas, and industrial markets. Operating within an owner‑operator business model, the Director of Engineering ensures that all electrical, mechanical, and controls engineering deliverables are technically sound, standardized, cost‑effective, and aligned with long‑term asset ownership and operational performance. Requirements for the Director of Engineering position include: Strong understanding of grid‑interconnected and behind‑the‑meter power systems Thorough understanding of distributed power generation solutions Demonstrated experience with natural gas turbines and/or reciprocating engines Must be able to oversee design of generation systems to ensure requirements, performance guarantees, and commercial commitments are met on time and within budget Must be familiar with data center or mission‑critical power applications Commercial acumen with strong technical depth Multidisciplinary engineering leadership Must possess ability to collaborate effectively across functions to achieve best results Customer‑focused solution development Risk management and technical decision making Demonstrated experience with gas turbines and/or natural gas reciprocating engines Must have an excellent driving record Must be willing to travel overnight or out‑of‑town via car or airplane Must be able to operate in fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environments Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Must have ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to commercial, executive, and customer audiences Excellent written and oral communication skills Must have good attention to detail Strong organization skills with the ability to effectively prioritize (with changing priorities), multi‑task, and address issues quickly and professionally Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands Strong analytical skills, required Software Proficiency Commitment to promoting a positive client experience and upholding the Core Values of Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, and Teamwork Seeking Candidates with: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline Minimum ten years' experience in power generation or energy infrastructure Professional Engineer (PE) license Experience delivering turnkey, owner‑operated power projects Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams Experience with modular or mobile power plants Experience supporting long‑term operations and maintenance of generation assets Physical Requirements: Required to sit and talk or hear.
