Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical - Pediatric

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Pediatric Cardiac Prep and Recovery RN is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to pediatric patients before and after cardiac procedures. This role involves managing both pre- and post-anesthesia care for neonates to geriatric congenital cardiac patients, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor pediatric patients undergoing cardiovascular, electrophysiology, and interventional catheterization procedures.
• Administer medications and therapies aligned with the care plans of pediatric cardiac patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients' families about procedures, post-care instructions, and recovery expectations.
• Document patient care activities accurately in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, including radiation safety and licensing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid South Carolina RN license prior to start or demonstrate eligibility to obtain one.
• Possess at least 2 years of experience in pediatric ICU, procedural care, or cardiac stepdown nursing.
• Certified in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of pediatric cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to work independently under limited supervision and handle a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to adhere to self-scheduling and team collaboration.
