Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment at a children's hospital, caring for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy department within a children's hospital
• Care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients across critical, non-critical, and chronic care needs
• Full time schedule, day shift from 6:45 AM to 7 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Performs technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures throughout the hospital

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience preferred, minimum 1 year required
• RT or RCP license in the state of Texas required (license required if applicable)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through NBRC required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• PALS certification required (AHA only)
• NRP certification required

Additional Information

• Perform patient assessments and institute respiratory care plans under physician direction with minimal supervision
• Respond to emergency codes including Code Blue and Code White
• Manage airways including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning, and deliver aerosolized drugs
• Set up and operate ventilators and manage BiPAP/CPAP support devices
• Analyze chest films, EKGs, and collect/analyze blood gases
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation and participate in CAP and JC surveys
• May function as Shift Leader or Team Leader based on experience
• Advanced practice opportunities may include pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, polysomnography, and transport duties
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Returning employees must have a 6-month separation period from any CHRISTUS facility before starting a new travel assignment
