Department 35206 Carolinas Medical Center - Nursing: Telemetry Cardiac: 7B Status Full time Benefits Eligible Yes Hours Per Week 36 Schedule Details / Additional Information Variable Pay Range $38.20 - $57.30 Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) Full-Time Night Shift | Atrium Health CMC 7B Cardiac Tele Job Summary Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice. Meet the requirements for a Registered Nurse III. Education / Experience Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred. Licensure, Certification and Registration Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire for Adult Critical Care, Adult ED Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire for Network ED, Peds ED, PICU and NICU, and other areas per unit guidelines Essential Functions Provide patient/family–centered care using the nursing process and focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior. Utilize and promote the use of technology and equipment to enhance the safety of patients and staff. Communicate effectively to promote sharing of information throughout the continuum of care and as an effective member of the healthcare team. Demonstrate the ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model, including shared governance, standards of care, peer review, professional development, leadership, and critical thinking. Perform and maintain competency for point‑of‑care testing as assigned, waived and/or non‑waived, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Act as a patient advocate throughout the continuum of care, including all patient settings and in the community. Coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through the application of care‑management principles, identifying clinical priorities and initiating actions to improve patient outcomes. Demonstrate ability to function in a professional practice model through active participation in shared governance, promotion of a healthy work environment, and acceptance of personal responsibility for professional growth. Required Cardiac Experience Required 6 months to a year minimum of cardiac experience. Prefer nurses familiar with drips. Nurses hired will be trained in devices; no experience required there. For nurses who enjoy long relationships with patients, this is a great position! Patients are implanted with the devices at Atrium Health and our nurses on 7B help to maintain those, receiving follow‑up visits from those patients using our devices.
