General Accounting Senior ManagerLatigo Biotherapeutics is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant with strong general accounting experience to support the Company's growing accounting function.Key ResponsibilitiesManage general accounting areas such as R&D and CMC accruals and other liabilities, among othersSupport the team in various other financial reporting activities while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policiesPrepare related journal entries, reconciliations, roll forwards, supporting schedules, and flux analysesCross collaboration with other functions to obtain critical inputs and assumptions for monthly accrual determinationAnalyze financial results, account activity, and balance sheet reconciliations while identifying and resolving accounting issues, unusual transactions, and reporting variancesSupport internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring timely completion of audit requirementsHelp drafting accounting policies and SOPs and keeping them currentUse AI, automation and process simplification to identify and implement process improvements that strengthen financial reporting, accounting controls, operational efficiency, and complianceQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field3+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and internal controls.CPA preferredBiotechnology, life sciences, CMC or R&D accrual experience preferred.Experience supporting system implementations, workflow automation, data validation, or AI-enabled tools is a plusExperience with NetSuite required, experience with Prendio, Coupa and Expensify is beneficialStrong Excel, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
