## Laboratory AssistantApplyremote type: Fully On-Campuslocations: Pearson Hall: Oxford Campustime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: JR104388**Job Title**Laboratory Assistant**Department**Lab Animal Resources CAS**Worker Type**Regular## **Pay Type**Hourly**Hourly Rate**15.85**Work Shift****Scheduled Weekly Hours**40**Benefit Eligible**Yes**Post-Offer, Pre-Employment Physical Required?**No**Job Description Summary**Performs a variety of custodial and clerical tasks related to the operation of the department's laboratory.**Job Description**Essential Duties:* Organizes laboratory, work areas, equipment, and supplies; cleans work area and equipment* Transports materials which may include food, utensils, or animals to and from laboratory* Receives and stores all laboratory equipment and supplies; maintains inventory of supplies; reorders as necessary* Maintains and operates laboratory equipment* May feed, water, clean cages, and monitor health of laboratory animals* May assist in student lab set-up and clean up**Minimum Qualifications:*** Requires high school diploma or GED and six months of laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*** Knowledge of laboratory procedures* Ability to maintain records* Requires driver's license**Additional Position Information (if applicable)**## Working ConditionsPhysical effort usually requires considerable walking and standing with some lifting of materials weighing 25 to 50 pounds. Some exposure to unpleasant elements which are particularly disagreeable.
