Staffing Scheduler/Coordinator PCA Float Pool BWH

Job Summary Responsible for managing and coordinating the scheduling of healthcare professionals to ensure adequate staffing levels in various healthcare settings. The role involves working closely with healthcare providers, staff members, and other departments to ensure patient care is delivered efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and manage schedules for healthcare staff, including nurses, physicians, and support personnel, ensuring adequate staffing levels at all times while considering patient needs and staff availability. Serve as the primary point of contact for staff scheduling issues and inquiries by communicating schedule changes, updates, and requirements to staff and relevant departments. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, labor laws, and organizational policies. Address and resolve scheduling conflicts and issues promptly and efficiently, and implement contingency plans for unexpected staffing shortages or changes. Utilize scheduling software and tools to manage and optimize staff schedules. Provide support and guidance to staff regarding scheduling policies and practices. Facilitate communication between healthcare staff and management to address scheduling concerns. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of staff schedules, hours worked, and other related documentation. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Associate's Degree in Healthcare Administration preferred. Associate's Degree in Related Field of Study preferred. Experience: Customer service experience, preferably in a clinical setting. Call Center / high volume practice experience preferred. Electronic Medical Record experience preferred (1-2 years required). Experience in scheduling, administrative support, receptionist role, or customer service position (2-3 years preferred). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to collect and analyze information and devise and develop statistical analyses and reports.
