Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse Contract Position

Schedule & Hours:

• Night shift
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (option for 48 hours based on preference)
• Expectation of every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday coverage of at least one major winter holiday
• 13 to 26 week contract duration

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license with at least 1 year of recent Stepdown experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• EPIC EMR proficiency required
• Experience with lines, chest tubes, vaso drips; IV therapy competence including central line care
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, patient-focused approach
• Black scrubs required

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications, perform wound care, monitor for adverse reactions
• Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families
• Document care and changes in patient condition in EPIC
• Collaborate and consult with healthcare team on treatment plans and patient progress
• Educate patients and families on disease management and self-care
• Uphold compliance with The Joint Commission standards, infection control, and organizational policies
• Respond quickly to emergencies, delegate appropriately to assistive personnel
• Maintain confidentiality and advocate for patient safety and well-being
