Overview The Application Engineer leads projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact. In this role you manage complex assignments with long‑term business implications, support complex issues within the area of application engineering, and contribute to overall business strategy. Responsibilities Provide technical expertise to Sales and Commercial Operations in selecting, implementing, and developing solutions for major BH customers. Support leaders in delivering revenue commitments. Develop budgets and firm offers for New Unit business, focusing on steam turbines and expanders for Energy sectors such as O&G, energy‑transition market, and industrial applications. Focus on geothermal opportunities involving steam turbines or expanders. Act as the technical reference point for the country for the complete GTE product portfolio. Maintain the backbone for the product in legacy O&G and industrial opportunities. Apply deep knowledge to tailor offered solutions to comply with common international steam turbine standards such as API 612 or IEC, including balance‑of‑plant and auxiliary systems. Use specific knowledge of the current IET expanders portfolio to tailor competitive offers for new energy‑transition opportunities. Assess competitive system performance and hardware evaluation throughout the bid process. Align sub‑vendor proposals (Surface condenser, Electric Generator, etc.) with customer requisitions and technical specifications. Participate in risk‑assessment processes, deal‑strategy reviews, and cost‑out activities during proposal preparation, defining best technical solutions. Support bid reviews and proposal‑clarification meetings. Perform steam‑cycle optimization for all IPG, including renewable power plants, using dedicated software such as Epsilon. Establish economic evaluations of selected configurations to compare with project CTQs. Maintain frequent interaction with clients to promote company products and solutions. Develop and maintain documentation of processes and information used within evaluation, analysis, and pricing groups. Provide performance data and hardware definitions and work with Engineering and Sales to ensure proper technical support for proposals. Provide accurate and timely data, including direct interaction with internal and external customers. Communicate openly with top management about project status to support business‑strategy evolution and increase hit rate. Manage daily priorities and work on assigned projects or processes. Provide specific support to complex global projects. Collaborate with Engineering and product‑leadership teams to evaluate the best technical and cost‑effective solutions. Be proactive in sharing customer feedback with Engineering and product leadership to refine ongoing product development for energy‑transition deals. Support DTI activities to foster the future project pipeline. Use effective problem‑solving skills and document results of generated technical data. Establish working relationships through clear and concise written and verbal communication. Qualifications Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in Engineering/Technology. Have the ability to identify specific project criticalities and set the right strategy and direction. Have prior experience with customer‑specification reviews, proposal development, and contract development and negotiations. Have knowledge of the application and requisition process. Have knowledge of international standards such as API and ASME. Have at least three years of experience working with international customers in engineering, marketing, sales, projects, or customer service. Have strong negotiation, oral, written, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Have the ability to meet established due dates with excellent time‑management skills. Have the capability to act as a contributing team member with effective team‑building skills. Have full availability to travel worldwide for business purposes on short notice.
