A leading commercial construction company is seeking experienced Construction Superintendents for projects located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Projects include industrial tilt-up buildings of varying sizes with significant sitework. Upcoming projects are located in the 66W corridor, Manassas, VA, Bristow, VA, Rockville, MD, and Upper Marlboro, MD.

The Superintendent will oversee all field operations to ensure self-performed and subcontracted work is completed in compliance with contract documents, project schedules, budgets, safety requirements, and quality standards. This includes supervising subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient jobsite.

Responsibilities

• Understand and administer the company's safety program and serve as the leader for all on-site safety activities.
• Maintain high-quality standards across all aspects of the project.
• Ensure projects are constructed in accordance with contract requirements.
• Coordinate mobilization, site logistics, subcontractors, and daily construction activities to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Develop and organize site logistics, including temporary facilities and utilities.
• Coordinate inspectors, testing agencies, and other required project resources.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and site operations team throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist the Project Manager with developing and maintaining the project schedule, including proper sequencing and installation methods.
• Develop and present a three-week look-ahead schedule during weekly owner/progress meetings.
• Maintain accurate daily documentation, including work orders, tickets, site conditions, and construction activities.
• Review subcontractor scopes of work and identify potential issues early to minimize unnecessary change orders.
• Proactively identify challenges and implement timely solutions.
• Manage the punch-list and project closeout process through owner/architect acceptance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred, but not required.
• 10+ years of construction experience.
• Experience with sitework and tilt-up construction preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, and field operations.
• Experience with a large-scale commercial contractor or equivalent industry experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead field operations and construction teams.
• Working knowledge of applicable regulations, including OSHA.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment/random drug screening.
