Opportunity for Interventional Cardiologist

Location: Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shreveport, LA

Our organization is currently seeking a full-time, board-certified or eligible Interventional Cardiologist. This role offers a distinctive blend of cultural influences, featuring both Cajun and Texan elements, as we are situated less than 15 minutes from the Texas border. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated, collaborative, and dedicated to the health and well-being of our Veterans. We are committed to delivering exceptional medical care while honoring those who have served our country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular consultation services.
  • Conduct standard diagnostic and cardiovascular procedures, such as cardiac catheterization, ECG, and angioplasty.
  • Engage in clinical practice and mentor Cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Hold a faculty appointment at the affiliated Louisiana State University Health and Science Center, based on qualifications.
Position Highlights
  • Competitive Starting Salary: $325,000 - $390,000
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with potential for unscheduled hours during emergencies or on-call duties.
  • Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen; non-citizen applicants may be considered if no suitable U.S. Citizen is found.
  • Licensure: Full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state.
  • Board Certification: Must be board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
  • Preferred Experience: Background in peripheral vascular intervention is advantageous; training in structural heart disease intervention and/or venous intervention is desirable.
