Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Electronics & PCBA)

DescriptionThe Senior Product Process Engineer (PPE) applies technical expertise to the performance, production, and repair of electronic and mechanical products and related components. This role primarily supports Operations, the PPE team, the production floor, and external customers with a focus on quality, Rolled Throughput Yield, cost reduction, standardization, reliability, and product readiness for Production and Repair. Additionally, the Senior PPE is responsible for overseeing the successful transfer of work from one supplier to another, ensuring quality, consistency, and minimal disruption to operations. Duties and ResponsibilitiesApply high-quality, manufacturability methodology to the New Product Introduction process and the entire product life cycleServe as the PPE technical lead, often representing Operations as a whole, with internal and external customers, Operations (Manufacturing and Supplier Management), Repairs, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product Support, and SuppliersOperate as a Product Owner for multiple products, including leadership and support from product development to end-of-lifePrepare and maintain Manufacturing, Production, and Repair plans for new and existing productsDevelop technical expertise and regulatory/quality understanding of electronics, mechanical components, and assemblies, emphasizing repeatable, quality-driven production processesOversee and coordinate the transfer of production work from one supplier to another, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, maintaining production schedules, and minimizing quality risks during the transition processEnsure the new supplier's capabilities align with product specifications and that all necessary documentation and training are providedCollaborate with Supplier Management, Quality, and Operations to mitigate risks during the transfer process and ensure seamless integration into existing workflowsResponsible for continual improvements in Rolled Throughput Yield, safety, on-time delivery, efficiency, and response timeContinuously reduce test escapes, defect PPM, and COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality)Troubleshoot electronic boards/assemblies and electromechanical components that fail functional testsIdentify root cause and corrective action to ensure problem containment, correction, and recurrence preventionAdvise management on issues related to supplier transitions and provide recommended solutionsRepresent the company during onsite/offsite customer and supplier meetings and provide management with updatesConduct Supplier & Product audits as required by the ManagerParticipate and support customer, regulatory, and on-site auditsRequirementsBachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field or equivalent experience in a related field6+ years of experience working in a similar role, including experience in managing supplier transitions, ensuring smooth production shifts while maintaining quality standardsPrior experience in the manufacture of electronic and mechanical components, particularly for Aerospace applicationsWorking knowledge of and compliance with ISO9001, AS9001, EASA & FAA requirementsExperience in coordinating supplier transitions or managing supply chain changes, with an emphasis on maintaining product quality and meeting production deadlines during supplier shiftsExperience utilizing and/or coordinating with domestic or overseas vendor servicesWorking knowledge and use of Lean and JIT concepts – (Kaizen, Kanban, Poke Yoke, Six Sigma, 8-D, DMAIC, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping (VSM))Proficient with Lean and JIT concepts, and able to implement them to increase productivity and remove wasteCAD/CAM (Solidworks) experienceSolid troubleshooting skills with electronics and mechanical assembliesStatistical analysis capabilitiesHas led complex projects and programs with a cross-functional team where influence and leadership are key to success, especially during supplier transitionsStrong ability to use Microsoft Office programs, Visio, and MinitabPrevious experience with MRP/ERP systems and PLM SystemsPrevious experience with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) or the components of APQP (PFMEA, DFMEA, PPAP, SPC) highly desiredBenefitsThe starting pay range for this position is $112,000 to $127,000 per year however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.In addition to a comprehensive package of health benefits that include company contributions, RAVE Aerospace offers a variety of additional benefits and perks to enhance your work-life balance experience including but not limited to:A home allowance to elevate your home workspaceDiscretionary bonus programFuture financial security with a 401(k) program with company matchPaid time off covering vacations, personal time off and sick days, capped off by an exciting year-end holiday shutdownEmbraced flexibility with our alternative work schedule (9/80) to navigate your workweeks with every other Friday offJob SummaryID: CBABF81433Department: Operations
