The Residential Care Associate I provides caring companionship and assistance with daily tasks to clients. The role supports the development of daily living skills and independence, including meal preparation, clean-up, and food purchasing, while encouraging client participation. Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, the position may pass medications and perform delegated medical care as prescribed by the client’s primary care provider. The role may transport clients to and from the program to engage and provide treatment services, and will maintain compliance with established productivity standards for documentation of services. This position falls under the AFSCME bargaining unit. Wages, benefits, and working conditions are set in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. Training Program With an MHACBO-accredited training program, you will earn CEUs toward applicable mental health certifications while attending paid training and receiving qualified clinical supervision and on-the-job experience. Work Schedule Sunday through Thursday, 2:00pm – 10:30pm (Full-Time, Swing) What You’ll Make $21.42 - $22.07 per hour DOE/Credentials. Language Differential Additional 5% language differential offered for bilingual or multilingual candidates. About the Program Fairview Firs is a co-ed, 5-bed program serving adults living with a mental illness. The program includes an ADA-accessible unit and each resident has a private bedroom. There are community areas, kitchen/dining spaces, and enclosed outdoor areas for residents to enjoy. The facility is located in a wooded setting with landscaped grounds. What You’ll Need Caregiving and/or mental health experience (personal or professional) is preferred A dedication to the wellbeing of each resident and helping them complete activities of daily living (ADLs) and independent activities of daily living (IADLs) Driving is an essential function of this position. Applicants must provide a valid driver's license, maintain a safe driving record, and be able to pass a DHS criminal background check within 30 days of hire. Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to frequently talk, listen, use hands, reach, stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift/carry/pull/push up to 40 pounds. It may require occasional use of ladders, squats/kneels, and other physical tasks. Crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings are required and may involve physical maneuvers and client transfers. Per OAR 309-035-0135, Direct Care staff must be 18 or older at the time of hire.
