Surgical Technologist (CST) - OR General Surgery

Role Overview: Assists surgeons during operative and invasive procedures, ensuring the operating suite is prepared and maintained in a safe, sterile environment. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to promote positive patient outcomes and safe care practices. Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager. Qualifications & Skills Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and certification from a recognized national certifying body (CST or TS-C). If uncertified at hire, certification must be obtained within 90 days. Knowledge of aseptic techniques, medication safety, and age-appropriate patient care. Effective communication skills and basic computer proficiency. Ability to work in stressful situations with critical thinking and sound judgment. Key Responsibilities Perform patient care activities that prioritize safety and positive outcomes. Follow medication rights and surgical safety policies. Assist in maintaining aseptic technique and proper specimen handling. Participate in efficient room turnover, including cleaning and equipment management. Communicate clearly with team members and report any procedural issues. Demonstrate autonomous practice, ongoing professional growth, and serve as a role model and mentor.
