Role Contribution To The Y's Mission

As a Y Sports Instructor, you'll be an important part of a mission-driven, charitable organization that helps children, adults, families, and communities achieve more in all aspects of life. The Y Sports Instructor follows curriculum provided and teaches all assigned sports classes. You will work with individuals and groups within a class structure to enable all to correct faults, improve self-image, and progress their abilities. As a Y Sports Instructor, you'll contribute to the Y and to the broader community we serve by creating experiences that help people feel a greater sense of health and well-being, purpose, acceptance and belonging.

Qualifications For This Role

This work is right for you if you have:

• A love of sports and people
• A desire to help & encourage others to have fun with sports
• Participated in organized sports
• The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates

All Y associates agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth that sets clear expectations for associates and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people. It emphasizes treating youth with respect and fairness, avoiding inappropriate physical or verbal interactions, and adhering to established standards of affection. The policy strictly prohibits any form of abuse, bullying, or harassment and mandates the reporting of suspected mistreatment. Additionally, associates and volunteers must complete training on child abuse prevention and comply with legal reporting requirements to safeguard youth.
