Exciting Opportunity for Night Shift Medical-Surgical Nurses!

Job Description:
- Shift: 12-hour Nights, Every Other Weekend (EOW)
- Work primarily in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with flexibility to float to Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Primary Location: St. Joseph Medical Center, potential floating to:
- St. Clare Hospital, Lakewood, WA
- St. Elizabeth Hospital, Enumclaw, WA
- St. Joseph Medical Center, Tacoma, WA
- Unit Notes:
- 82 Critical Care Beds (48 ICU, 34 PCU)
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
- EMR System: EPIC
- Nurse Ratios:
- ICU: 1:1 or 1:2
- PCU: 1:3
- Staff Support:
- Charge Nurse on each floor
- Nurse Aides: 2 per floor
- Tele/Monitor Techs only in PCU
- Weekend Requirement:
- Days: Saturday and Sunday
- Nights: Friday and Saturday
- Rotating holidays with permanent staff
- Patient Care:
- All critical care diagnoses
- Common PCU drips include Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin (No Pressors)
- Vents available in ICU only
- Additional Resources:
- Hospitalist or Intensivist on-site during the day, virtual ICU support at night with ARNP available for procedures overnight
- IV Team, RT, and Pharmacy support available 24/7
- Orientation:
- Floor-specific for a maximum of 1 week with an educator or a minimum of 2 shifts
- Experience Requirement:
- Minimum of 2 years in specialty
- Strong Med Surg RN background preferred
- Cancellation Policy:
- Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts for 13-week assignments, 3 shifts for shorter contracts
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Contract Length: 91 weeks
