Bring your expertise in academic counseling to an engaging, full-time contract assignment supporting high school students. Two positions are available for experienced School Counselors to guide students through their academic journey during a rewarding school year. With a start date of August 31, 2026, and continuing through June 4, 2027, you’ll play an essential role in a vibrant educational setting near Ypsilanti, MI.

As an academic counselor, you’ll work directly with students, helping them navigate course selection, college preparation, and personal development. Your commitment to student success and well-being will make a profound difference as you collaborate with staff and families to create the best possible educational experiences.

Qualifications:

• Active Michigan education certificate with School Counselor endorsement (please list all current licenses and certifications alongside your application)
• Previous experience supporting high school students in an academic setting preferred
• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong understanding of academic planning, post-secondary pathways, and social-emotional student support
• Dedicated to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for all learners

Responsibilities:

• Guide students with academic planning, scheduling, and college or career readiness
• Address academic and social-emotional needs through counseling interventions
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to monitor student progress
• Deliver workshops or presentations on relevant academic or career topics
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality requirements
