Seven Healthcare are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for a travel assignment in Rochester, NY. This role involves working in a state-of-the-art facility where you will assist in the high-level disinfection, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments to various medical units. Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician

• Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instrument pans, procedural trays, and technical equipment.
• Operate steam sterilizers, ensuring time, pressure, and temperature gauges are checked frequently.
• Perform simple maintenance of sterilizers, such as cleaning drain baskets, and assure sterility by preparing cultures.
• Decontaminate surgical instruments following established procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
• Receive and store supplies, maintain par levels of inventory, and document orders for surgical supplies.
• Conduct quality assurance on all sterile supplies and instruments and maintain accurate documentation.

Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician

• Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician
• Experience in a large hospital (500+ beds)
• Must have travel experience (minimum 6 months)
• Two professional references from the last two experiences
