Staff Geologist - Environmental Remediation (Denver)

Overview Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Geologist to support environmental investigation and monitoring, due diligence, and remediation projects in our Environmental Services global practice in Englewood, CO. Responsibilities Prepare environmental investigation work plans, reports, feasibility studies, etc. Prepare Phase I environmental site assessments Execute and guide environmental site assessments, including subsurface soil and low-flow groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation, soil characterization and logging, etc. Perform project and task management duties on remediation projects. Subcontractor contracting, scheduling, and management of field activities. Work closely with project teams and field personnel to complete and review projects within scope, budget and schedule. Other duties, as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Geology or closely related field from an accredited program. Minimum of 4 years of related professional experience completing environmental investigations, analyzing and summarizing investigation data, preparing environmental reports, etc. Experience assisting with or conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II environmental site investigations Demonstrated aptitude performing environmental field monitoring activities, including collection of soil and groundwater samples, logging soil borings, installing and developing groundwater monitoring wells, data analysis, and authoring reports Experience in the field supporting remedial actions, including emergency response, excavation oversight, in-situ treatments, soils and waste management, site restoration, etc. Experience with and working knowledge of State and Federal Regulations OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training with annual updates Self-motivation and the ability to self-manage and multi-task (write reports, analyze data, perform design tasks, etc.) Strong problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, and ability to work within a team framework Previous consulting experience is a plus. Experience investigating coal combustion residuals (CCR) at regulated facilities is strongly preferred. Ability to travel and work in the field, up to 30%, as required. Compensation $90,000.00-140,000.00 Yearly The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
