Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Speech Language Pathologist, you will be a vital clinician, expertly assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to significantly improve patient quality of life. Every day, you will be expected to conduct comprehensive evaluations for all referred patients, meticulously implementing individualized treatment plans. You'll contribute clinical expertise to develop or upgrade treatment programs or protocols, and actively shape departmental and organizational goals. To be successful in this role, you must possess advanced clinical knowledge, exceptional diagnostic and therapeutic skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach. Clinical/Technical Skills Performs evaluations and re-evaluations, produces discharge summaries progressing patients toward goals, accurately documents results written or electronically on inpatient, outpatient, and home environments according to SRDH and speech-language pathology practice standards. Performs appropriate treatment, which may include proper use of diagnostic modalities and therapeutic procedures to maximize functional skills toward independence, using equipment specific to age and size of patient. Maintains a safe environment considering the patient's unique circumstances and risk factors related to age, physical limitations, and mental status. Uses office or other rehabilitation equipment effectively and efficiently. Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving. Job Requirements Required Master’s or other completed accredited education; in possession of a valid license and in good standing with ASHA, enabling practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in Nevada. Entry level accepted. Speech Language Pathologist: Nevada license. BLS – American Heart Association certification. Clinical competence in Speech Language Pathology within 12 months of hire. Preferred Postgraduate education, certification or CEUs in acute care, geriatrics, head & neck cancer, voice, swallow & MBS studies, pediatrics, NICU, neurology or other clinically relevant coursework or seminars.
