Quality Tech

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Tech is responsible for inspecting, performing lab tests on all products to ensure all products conform to RS and Customer specifications. As a member of the RS team, this position will support an organizational culture that cares for other's well-being through best practices in health and safety, in addition to the company's values of respect, integrity, quality, teamwork and professional growth.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting quality inspections at various stages of the production process per RS/Customer Specification.
• Assisting with supplier development.
• Performing incoming inspections and maintaining proper records per SOP requirements.
• Working with production operators in ensuring the quality of the product at all stages of the production process.
• Performing various laboratory tests per Work Instructions to ensure product conformity to RS and Customer Specifications.
• Preparing test reports.
• Maintaining lab safety and helping maintain lab cleanliness.
• Performing inspections of poles for custom cut lengths, drill patterns, and final inspections against engineering drawings.
• Conducting other pre-production, final product and shipping inspections.
• Maintaining both electronic and hard copies of quality records.
• Informing Quality Manager of any discrepancies in tests or inspections.
• Serving as backup for all other quality tech positions.
• Performing calibration inspection of various gauges/tools per RS SOP's and maintaining accurate records.
• Reporting all equipment related issues to the Quality Manager.
• Ensuring proper inventory of materials to perform the job.
• Assisting the Engineering Department in the research, trial/development, selection of new processes and equipment to improve processes.
• Assisting in training and cross training of team members.
• Participating in continuous improvement activities.
• Assisting with QMS Audits.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Complying with all Company Safety rules.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.

Training/Qualifications include:

• High School Diploma at a minimum, Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• One to three years' experience within a Quality role in a production environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Engineering print reading knowledge and experience.

Working conditions include:

• Industrial production environment. Hours will be from 11-7pm then moving into Continental shifts.
• Time critical support required.
• Interaction with chemicals, heavy machinery, and moving equipment.
