Description of Position: Provides expertise in Space Domain operations, joint logistics, crisis planning, logistics support to space operations, directs the coordination of USSPACECOM planning efforts regarding logistics and engineering support to space operations and integration of USSPACECOM Operational Plans (OPLANs), campaign plans, exercises, and incorporation of these equities in to other Combatant Command's series of plans. Responsible for the assessment of the readiness of the Logistics and Engineering equities within these plans for the command. Position Responsibilities: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities through subordinate supervisors. Plans work to be accomplished by the Division's subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Evaluates work performance of subordinates. Ensures executable logistics and engineering planning activities for the space domain are fully incorporated into the Department of War's campaign, exercise, operational planning, and other CCMD series of plans. Develops goals and objectives integrating organization, planning, and readiness objectives. Develops, executes and reviews policies, processes, and procedures of a special or miscellaneous character spanning multiple logistics and engineering disciplines and require application of knowledge of such principles. Presents briefings and develops technical reports to document progress and results. Prepares management reports and conducts technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective action. Ensures relevant and current Logistics Programs events are included in exercises and participates in exercise planning conferences, develops Logistics Programs Master Sequence Event Lists (MSELs), and maintains area of responsibility (AOR)- specific Logistics Programs lessons learned. Works with the Joint community in the development of new Joint logistics policies and procedures to support USSPACECOM mission needs. Interprets existing DoW, JS, and other logistics publications and provides reviews, edits, comments, and suggestions for rewrites and drafts of existing and new DoW, JS, USSPACECOM, and other logistics publications. Reviews, provides comments and recommends approval of a variety of requirements/capabilities documents to include, but not limited to, operational requirements/capabilities documents, mission needs statements, concepts of operations, and other logistics and acquisition documents. Desired Skills/Expertise: In-depth knowledge of DoW, JCS, and unified command policies, functions and operations in order to interpret, evaluate and disseminate plans, policy and procedures for national level, Combatant Command and Service programs. Knowledge of Operational Contract Support and Vendor Threat Mitigation policies, doctrine and application and how it integrates in to Federal, Department of War, and Department of the Air Force logistics planning and acquisition policies, procedures, and processes. Knowledge of global campaign planning and policy development in a joint military environment; such as Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES), Global Force Management (GFM), strategic Time-Phased Force and Deployment Data (TPFDD) operational planning, and Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX). Knowledge of the functions, goals, objectives, and work processes pertinent to conducting Combatant Command training exercises and in applying training system concepts to meet exercise, training, readiness objectives, and reporting responsibilities. Knowledge of a broad range of Agreements, Acquisition and Cross Service Agreements, assessment techniques and application. Exceptional ability to solve broad organizational issues, implement strategic plans within and across organizational components, and ensure a cooperative teamwork environment. Advanced skill sufficient to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relationships with diverse groups and executive-level command management. Conditions of Employment : Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance. Occasional travel away from regular duty location may be required. May be required to work irregular duty hours including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
